On July 15, Travel & Leisure magazine announced the 25 best cities in the world in 2022. This is an event within the framework of the World’s Best Awards, which takes place annually. It based on the votes of hundreds of thousands of readers which are tourists around the world. Hoi An, in Quang Nam province, ranked 20th on the list. In 2019, Travel & Leisure voted this place the best destination in the world.
The remaining places on this year’s list, in order, include Oaxaca (Mexico), San Miguel de Allende (Mexico), Ubud (Bali, Indonesia), Florence (Italy), Istanbul (Turkey), Mexico City ( Mexico), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Jaipur (India), Osaka (Japan), Udaipur (India), Seville (Spain), Mérida (Venezuela), Tokyo and Kyoto (Japan), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Seoul (South Korea), Bodrum, Rome (Italy), Muscat (Oman), Cuzco (Peru), Cape Town (South Africa), Charleston (USA), Bangkok (Thailand) and Ljubljana (Slovenia).
Evaluation criteria are the following criteria: hotels, Michelin-rated restaurants, rich cultural heritage, attractive attractions, friendliness, cuisine, and COVID-19 prevention. After being counted, the votes will be summarized, giving a list of the world’s best destinations.
